City of Evil Tracklist:
This is one of my personal favorite Avenged Sevenfold albums. This album has a great flow, track after track. Also, this album has great vocals, great drum solos, great piano solos, and great guitar solos as well. Finally, the instruments wrap around the vocals like no other, and intertwine perfectly. Definitely looking forward to the next limited play album, and extended play album.
I used to listen to Avenged Sevenfold a lot back in the late 2000's but never admired this album's lyrics until recently buying it on iTunes. M.I.A. has to be my favorite track. I also like Beast and the Harlot and Blinded in Chains. I never realized that the lyrics have more of a meaning until reading more into each song's lyrics online, especially Blinded in Chains. This is something A7X had definitely put effort into. It's probably my favorite album released by them. I wish this album was mastered for iTunes. It's so loud compared to a lot of other songs in my library, but that's most likely on iTunes' part. Overall, it's a great album and I suggest buying it. You wouldn't steal a car or a library card and check out books you'd never return, don't steal this album and don't share your ripped MP3's. Support the creators.
This album starts out with the song that really defines their new style, “Beast and the Harlot”, the album also includes some other heavy hitters of theirs like “Bat Country” and “Seize the Day”, plus has a special guest with Papa Gates with some sweet strings in their song “Sidewinder”
I just bought the CD of this today and I popped it in my CD player and listened to the whole thing and I was blown away. It is an amazing album and I highly recommend picking this up if you like Avenged Sevenfold or if you like metal music like I do. 10/10
this is by far one of their best albums. I believe my first song I heard was "Seize The Day," and that beautiful solo is what won me over completely. I have been a fan since roughly 2007, and I recommend a listen to a couple songs from EVERY album. one can't judge a band by just one song or even just an album. they have a song for whatever mood you're in and they care about their fans. truly talented band. rest in peace Jimmy Sulivan.
Im not a huge fan of rock/metal but A7X did a hell of a job on this album. I liked every song after their first two albums. Some of my favorites were Fiction, M.I.A, Seize The Day, A Little Piece Of Heaven, and im gonna have to say Acid Rain and Planets are great too.
A7X is the best! This is a more "messy" sounding album. Maybe that's not the word but don't know another one to use. It is by no means less good sounding or put together than other albums it's just a different sound. Maybe rough is the word. Anyways it's amazing like about every sevenfold song. I love blinded in chains, bat country, sidewinder, betrayed, and Mia a lot.
Now I don't think any of these songs are as good as Critical Acclaim but that's just my opinion But this is honestly my favorite album with some ridiculous sounds put together in amazing music foREVer...
This album features some of Avenged Sevenfold's greatest songs. It also features some of my least favorites. I don't care for Burn It Down or Seize The Day. Beast And The Harlot, Blinded In Chains, Trashed And Scattered, The Wicked End, and Betrayed are awesome though. Sidewinder is by far the best song on the album and might be A7X's best ever.
This is by far the bands best album. Every song is so good i cant pick my favorite but the last five are amazing. Some songs may take a little time to grow on you but if you listen to them a couple if times they may become your favorites. Avenged Sevenfold is the only band i know where every single song sounds different. All of the songs are pretty long but there isn't a single boring or repetitive part to them.
I love avenged sevenfold but I mostly love it because of bat country from NHL 06 best soundtrack in the history of NHL BAT COUNTRY MADE MY MEMORIES FROM THAT GAME!!! First hat trick rocked that song!
This album encompasses all the metal trends of the late 90's early Millennial generation. This album screams all the feelings we felt. S. gates and M. Shadows & the Rev. Nailed every aspect of this album. It will echo through time with the thoughts and emotions of my youth!
My favorite bands are Slayer, Black Sabbath/Ozzy Osbourne, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Metallica, Anthrax, Megadeth, AC/DC, Mötley Crüe, KISS, Guns 'N Roses, The Runaways, and Led Zeppelin. I've never listened to AS, from from the songs I've heard by them, they're pretty good. I enjoyed it very much. My cousin- who is ALSO a metalhead- suggested AS for me. I thought they were too unoriginal for my liking. Yet, I liked a few of their tracks, like "Nightmare." I checked them out- since they said Slayer was an influence, and Slayer is my FAVORITE band- and liked it. And if you're gonna hate, don't listen to it, okay? Now, that's all I've talked about for now! :)
From driving guitar to insane drum riffs, City of Evil showcases the unique feel of Avenged Sevenfold. The fluid transitions between songs adds a great deal of listening pleasure. Although not as recongnized as albums such as "Nightmare" and "Avenged Sevenfold", this album delivers much better sound and creativity.
Back in 2005 I was playing SSX 3 and I heard their most famous song Bat Country and that's how I got into music, ever since I listen to them and love it, this album was a major step forward and since then they have not once took a step back. Thank you A7X for your music!!!
Just saying... best album I have ever heard and I'm still listening to these songs everyday when I drive to work at least 3 times. Bat Country, Trash and Scattered, and The Beast and the Harlet never gets old... NEVER!
